Child Safety Policy and Procedures
Mount Waverley Secondary College is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all students and welcomes all children, young people and their families. We aim to create a culturally safe environment, both in person and online in which the diverse and unique identities of all our students are respected and valued. We are committed to ensuring our students are empowered about their rights, participating in decisions that affect them. Our ongoing focus is to ensure all staff, volunteers and visitors are aware of the child safety requirements and can identify and support our students when needed. Every person in our school community has an important role in promoting child safety and wellbeing and promptly raising issues or concerns about a child’s safety. All of our policies and procedures related to child safety will be reviewed annually.
The Child Safe Standards (the Standards) are compulsory minimum standards for all Victorian schools to ensure they are well prepared to keep children and young people safe and protect them from abuse.
