On Saturday 7th September, 20 students and three teachers from MWSC embarked on a 3-week study tour to Japan. The trip began with a flight from Melbourne to Narita, followed by two days in Tokyo where we visited Shibuya Sky, a baseball game at Tokyo Dome, Teamlabs, and Odaiba. Next, we traveled to Hakone, stayed at a traditional guest house, visited Mt. Hakone, saw Mt. Fuji, and tasted black eggs from the local area.

In Osaka, we did our first homestay, attended school, and participated in a cultural festival. We explored Kyoto’s bamboo forest, Fushimi Inari, and Himeji Castle before reaching Hiroshima, where we visited the Atomic Bomb Museum, Peace Park, and took a day trip to Miyajima Island.

Our final homestay was in Natori, where we experienced regional Japanese life and attended local middle schools. Afterwards, we returned to Tokyo and went to Asakusa, Disneyland, Harajuku and Meiji Shrine before heading home to Melbourne on September 29th.

The trip greatly enhanced our understanding of Japanese culture through diverse experiences and homestays, creating unforgettable memories and friendships.
